APOS Output Management
Integration Solution
Assured delivery of SAP BusinessObjects content
Determining if an email distribution process or a batch print job successfully executes and makes it to its final destination can be challenging because traditional methods require a manually intensive effort to control and validate these output processes.
APOS recognizes the challenges that BI professionals face and have teamed with LRS
(Levi, Ray & Shoup) to provide a unique solution to the enterprise output management process.
The APOS Output Management Integration Solution (OMIS) brings the same precise control
and operational efficiency that LRS solutions bring to enterprise output management
and uses APOS technology for the distribution and delivery of content and output
from an SAP BusinessObjects deployment.
The APOS OMIS allows you to execute report and document printing or email distribution
processes through LRS queues instead of communicating directly to a windows or Unix
print queue or an SMTP server. It also facilitates communication with LRS print
and email queues to inform you about the success or failure status of your print
jobs and emails.
Key Functionality
- Report bursting
- Report consolidation
- Set unique report destinations
- Enable specific security requirements for reports
- Flexible batch printing scenarios
Each job that is sent to an LRS queue includes additional meta-data that ties the
job and the report to an owner so the queue administrator has better a better understanding
of the process, and can better control of the process through a unified console
to take direct action should challenges arise during the process.
User Benefits
- Extend SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise with output management
- Improve both printing and e-mail output
- Provide guaranteed delivery of printed or electronic documents to any destination
- Instantly notify users and administrators of document failures
- Improve output reliability and performance
- Improve output administration by allowing the administrator to know where in SAP
BusinessObjects the job in the print queue came from and providing better control
over all jobs.

“Instance Manager provided a straightforward method of editing an existing scheduled report and running it at any time. It had the same fields as the Central Management Console but not having to move between forms and update all the time was a great improvement. The layout was familiar, so the time to learn how to use the product was very quick.”
