A quick and easy way to integrate sophisticated live mapping into Crystal Reports, our new ESRI Viewer for Crystal Reports is a Flash-based viewer for ESRI GIS platforms. Easy to install since it's only one flash file, this new viewer enables powerful viewing of ESRI maps, with these special features:
 Can be used with Crystal Reports 2008, enabling Crystal Reports designers to easily embed live map viewing right inside their reports
- Uses the power of Crystal Reports to bring data together from any number of different data sources and then use the new viewer to include thematic data within the map display itself – as tooltips, highlighting, an acetate layer of actual data, etc.
- Drilldown capability allows users to see different thematic analysis information on each map level as they drill down
- Create a PDF with a live, embedded ESRI map, enabling the user to perform all the drilldown and analysis capability inherent in the viewer, right from the PDF

APOS at the North American Business Objects User Group Conference

 The inaugural North American User Group event of the Global Business Objects Network (GBN), was held on October 20-22 in Dallas, Texas. APOS was a sponsor for this GBN event, as we have been for many years with the Business Objects 'Insight' User Group events. This event, held jointly with ASUG, attracted approximately 1,200 attendees, and is off to a solid start to its growing network and future events. Our agenda session on the APOS Integration Kit for Microsoft Outlook was very well attended, where we described how Outlook can be used as a portal to Business Objects XI.
As part of our sponsor and vendor activity, we provided a draw for attendees to enter. Because we are known for providing 'Power Tools for Business Objects,' our draw was for a set of power tools. Congratulations to David Lanza of BMC Software, the winner of our draw.
