ESRI ArcGIS Server Support
ESRI is very shortly
releasing the new 9.2 version of ESRI ArcGIS Server. We plan to
support this new version, if you're interested in learning more about
our beta program for this new version for ArcGIS Server v.9.2, please
let us know as soon as possible.
Java Version
of Solutions Kit for ESRI - Now Available
We're pleased to announce the availability of the beta version of
our Solutions Kit for Java deployments. You can run the Java
version on Microsoft Windows or other BusinessObjects XI R2
supported operating systems such as Solaris, AIX, Linux, etc.
If you're interested in joining the beta program for this new Java version, please
let us know as soon as possible.

PolyOne is a leading global polymer services
company - providing customers with specialty
thermoplastic compounds, polymer
formulations, color and additive systems,
screen-printing inks, vinyl compounds, and
thermoplastic resin distribution.
Solution:
PolyOne needed to enhance its report
processing monitoring
capabilities, which is
why they purchased APOS Systems’ Instance
Manager. With reports running 24-7 about
every 15 minutes, it is critical to know if
there are failed reports in order to be
proactive in correcting them.
PolyOne also
installed APOS Systems’ Object Manager to
allow them to quickly validate security
roles and reports with the desired
authorization. “Administrative updates that
would take a few minutes to update in Object
Manager would take several hours to a day to
complete without Object Manager. Without the tool, we would have
to manually go into each report and folder
in the entire system each time we wanted to
perform a system-wide check. This is very
time consuming and it is also easy to
overlook something.” said Bill.

as the ultimate power tool for managing objects within
BusinessObjects XI!
Here's an
overview of recently added new features:
Object
Management
• new 'Properties' screen to allow users to change an object
properties "Name, Description and Keyword"
Preferences
Management
• edit Web Intelligence preference settings on multiple
reports at once.
• edit Desktop Intelligence preference settings on
multiple reports at once.
• settings will be preloaded into the 'Preference Management
String Wizard' screen to facilitate editing.
• format settings for selected objects are now preloaded to
facilitate editing.
User Maintenance
• replace an existing security role with another security role
for multiple users/groups/objects at once.
• new editing support for existing advanced security roles.
Report Promotion
• for existing report objects that have recurring
instances, the selection and group formulas
on the recurring instances can now be
updated if so desired.
• export a list of selected folders from the folder selection
screen in the 'Promote' process.

Bursting Manager for BusinessObjects XI
Release 2
*Powerful new features added
Bursting Manager is
one of our most popular products, here's a
new feature:
•
PDF Encryption - when bursting a large instance into smaller
pdf files,
encryption can now be applied to allow security to be
applied that will require the user to enter
a password to open the pdf.
This new capability
is in addition to these Bursting Manager's
core capabilities:
•
Option 1: Single-Pass Burst - burst an existing
large instance to smaller individual ones
using business rules from a Business View or
a selection formula stored in a database.
•
Option 2: Multi-Pass Burst - schedule one
report to burst to many small instances
using business rules: from Business View,
report parameter or a selection formula
stored in a database.
•
Bursting to Different Printers - for both of
the above options, print the report to a
static or dynamically selected printer. With
dynamic printer selection, you can use
business rules to print sections of the
report to different printers. This printing
option is in addition to the regular
bursting destination, so Bursting Manager is
actually able to do three things for you at
once - burst, distribute and print.
