Publishing from XI
Directly to
crystalreports.com!
Join us for a
new webinar covering an overview of an
exciting new solution for sharing critical
information securely beyond the firewall.
Date: Thursday, March 13, 2008
Time: 10am PDT, 1pm EDT, 6pm BST
Speakers:
Steve Williams, Sr. Product Marketing
Manager, Business Objects
Peter Scholtens, Sr. OnDemand Sales Consultant,

Warren Kobbeltvedt, VP Sales - NA West, Asia Pacific

How do you share critical information with customers
or partners outside your firewall?
Delivering reports via email—or worse, by hand—is
ineffective: the data is quickly obsolete, and you
have no control over who else may have access.
Attend this complimentary Business Objects web
seminar and learn how you can extend the value of
your current BI system to share information with the
right people outside your firewall, instantly
simply, and securely.
LEARN HOW TO:
-
Segregate report and dashboard viewing privileges
among users based on their role or requirements
-
Connect to and refresh web-based reports with
'live' on-premise data - through your firewall
-
Extend the system to as many users needed—with
nothing to install, and no additional dependency on
IT
-
Share reports from on-premise systems like
Business Objects XI and Crystal Reports Server
automatically over the web

With more licenses sold than any other APOS
BI Tool,
InfoScheduler
adds powerful Excel-based batch scheduling
capabilities to BusinessObjects XI.
InfoScheduler is
now a more powerful batch scheduling tool than
ever before, recently added new features include . . .
-
new 'Manage
Profiles' option to create multiple profiles
(user name/password), for use in any
username/password column - ensures that the
password on the spreadsheet is hidden.
-
new 'protectPasswords'
flag forces InfoScheduler to check all
password columns to ensure that a password
was entered; and if a password is
found, the user will be prompted to enter a
password for the entire spreadsheet.
-
new 'Set
Password' option to allow users to set a
password on the InfoScheduler spreadsheet.
-
'Copy Child
Instances' option in 'Object Search' brings
all instances of a selected report into
InfoScheduler.
-
import xml
feature supports connecting to a different
BOE environment (with the same folder and
report structure) and then importing that
xml file into the current BOE environment.
-
subreport
parameters are available when importing into
InfoScheduler
-
new flags can
be set to load the user folders in either
one big list or to break them down into sub
folders - alphabetically i.e. A, B, C, etc.,
empowering the Object Search screen.
- Object Search now supports
importing the instance title with the
instance.
-
new flags can
be set to ignore the SI_ID property when
importing an XML file from Instance Manager
-
new
##DefaultPrinter## syntax for the printer
name column - specifies that the 'use
default printer' setting is set when the
instance is scheduled; used by the Import
XML, CSV and Object Search functionality of
InfoScheduler.
-
new checkbox on
'export to xml' that allows the user
to export the instance name
-
new Object
Search capability to copy the contents of an
entire folder, or all instances from a
report.

C
urrently
our second most popular APOS BI Tool,
Instance Manager provides the
administrator with enhanced capability to
analyze the entire report
instance environment at once, search for specific instance
processing states within specific time periods and then optionally
apply action commands to one or more report instances
simultaneously.
Instance Manager has more power than
ever before, recently added new features include . . .
- search and retrieve instances from XI Inboxes.
- subsidiary
search for an instance by name from the list of already
loaded instances.
- 'Scheduled By' column shows the actual submitter
of a scheduled instance instead of the scheduledOnBehalfOf user. For
example: if the Administrator schedules a recurring instance
OnBehalfOf 'Nancy', the 'Submitter' column shows 'Nancy', and the
new column shows 'Administrator'.
- changing the Submitter Id for an instance through the
'Reschedule with Edit' screen is now supported.
- export to InfoScheduler XML/CSV now exports this
property of PDF schedules:
SI_FORMAT_CREATE_BOOKMARKS_FROM_GROUPTREE
- ##DefaultPrinter## syntax for the printer name allows
specifying a default printer setting for 'Export to
InfoScheduler XML' and 'Export to InfoScheduler CSV'.

As
the industry leading archiving application
for Business Objects XI,
Archive Manager allows historical
successful report instances to be archived, and restored later if
desired, using a comprehensive set of business rules. These powerful
business rule settings provide the administrator with the ultimate
in archiving flexibility and may be assigned at the folder/subfolder
levels or even at the report object level itself.
Archive Manager is more comprehensive
than ever, recently added new features include . . .
-
archive instances from all XI Inboxes
following business rules
-
/RUN command line switch now opens
Archive Manager, runs archiving based on business rules and then
closes. Windows Scheduler or another scheduler can now control
exactly when archiving is performed.
- 'Start Time' feature ensures that
even though the Archive Manager background service may be running,
archiving will not commence until the 'Start Time' has been reached.
